During the two-week run of Dear New York, Metro North set aside a long-standing restriction on live performances and allowed a twelve-foot Steinway Concert Grand Piano to be placed in the center of the Main Concourse. The Juilliard School provided two weeks of musical programming to accompany the projection experience, featuring over 100 students and alumni playing a variety of instruments. In the late evening hours the Steinway was made available through an open call process, providing an unforgettable experience to over thirty local musicians.
